Description
Growing up in Calcutta, the Indian Post was more than just a service—it was the lifeline of connection. Letters filled with love, gifts wrapped with care, memories packed in envelopes—all traveled through that one small daakghor we’d find tucked near every para, often nestled close to the ghats of the Ganga.
As children, we felt a strange excitement—waiting for the postman, collecting stamps, and holding on to those tiny pieces of history. That nostalgia has stayed with me, and it has shaped who I am as a creator today.
Daakghor, this block-printed dress, is my ode to those red boxes, handwritten words, and the culture of communication that once bound us together. It’s not just fabric and print—it’s a story of belonging, memory, and heritage woven into threads.
